2008 MTM Scirocco R<\/h2>\n

\n

WETTSTETTEN, Germany \u2014 Motoren Technik Mayer, the German tuning house known best for its high-performance Audis, turns its attention to the Volkswagen Scirocco and has put its wares on display at the 2008 Essen Auto Show.<\/span><\/p>\n

On display at the show is the MTM Scirocco R, which features aero enhancements plus chassis and powertrain upgrades. MTM offers three stages of tune for the Scirocco, including 245, 250 and 272 horsepower.<\/p>\n

To lift performance further, the MTM Clubsport chassis package includes lowering springs and sport shocks, which, combined, drop the car’s ride height by up to 1.6 inches. Also available are eight-pot Brembo brakes with perforated discs.<\/p>\n

Among the other MTM hardware being offered on the Scirocco R are a quad-pipe performance exhaust system, shrouded by a rear skirt attachment, and a set of Bimoto rims in 19- and 20-inch sizes. Buyers can choose from Continental or Michelin tires.<\/p>\n
