1994 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II Group A<\/h1>\n

The orginal Lancer Evolution yeilded little victory for Mitsubishi. In an attempt to change this record a new version of the Lancer Evolution was released. This car was aptly titled the Evolution II.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the 1994 season, a newly devleoped aerodyanmics set the car apart from the Lancer Evolution. A new larger rear wing was affixed as was a more agressive front spoiler. Horsepower was raised by 10 bhp.<\/p>\n

Evolution IIs were raced in the 1994 season up until the begining of 1995. During this time cars were campaigned in both the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship and World Rally Championship.<\/p>\n

The first major victory was achieved with a Lancer Evolution was had at the 1995 Swedish Rally (WRC). It was at this rally where Mitsubishi’s Active Four-wheel Drive system was first employed. Using a computer controlled driveline, the car was able to apply power were the most grip a could be had. This greatly helped the Lancer’s remain tractable on the snowy Swedish passes.<\/p>\n
