2001 Saleen S7R<\/h2>\n

Not long after Saleen announced the S7 supercar in 2001, they debuted the racing version. Called the S7R, these were initially built by Ray Mallock Limited RML in the UK. They were initially raced by customers, RML and Saleen in the European Le Mans Series, Grand American Road Racing Championship and the American Le Mans Series.<\/span><\/p>\n

RML motorsport immediately shipped the first S7R to America were it was campaigned by Saleen-Allen Speedlab. Konrad Team Saleen won their class at the ALMS series opener at the 2001 12 Hours of Sebring. This was a warmup for the LeMans where four were prepared including two S7s for Allen Speedlab and one for each Konrad Motorsport and RLM Motosport. Three cars dropped out of race and the final remaining car placed 18th overall and well behind the Chevrolet Corvette C5-R in the LM GTS class.<\/p>\n

At the time of sale, RML listed the S7R’s features:<\/p>\n
