This was one of the first Mustangs that was prepared by Roush Performance Products in Livonia, Michigan. It was used to develop multiple systems for the new platform and eventually encouraged him to develop a complete line of Ford performance products.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The prototype is unique because it was used to develop some of Jack Roush&#8217;s first performance products. This particular car was used to test a new cowl induction intake manifold that raised power to 372 bhp.<\/p>\n<p>Not limited to just performance upgrades, a one-of bodykit was made for this prototype that included a new rear fascia and front fascia. Furthermore it was outfitted with sidepipes, hood modifications and suspension upgrades. In this form it was tested by Super Ford magazine for their March 1996 issue.<\/p>\n<p>By 1997, Roush began to offer complete Mustang packages known as Stage 1, 2 and 3.
