Called Shelby Super Cars, the company is distinct from Shelby Automobiles and prides itself on impressive top speed and horsepower numbers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2002, the Jerod Shelby and his team worked on a steel space frame and carbon fiber body as a basis for their 250 mph super car. Their replica Lamborghini chassis were similar in design and the first prototype used a twin-turbo Corvette V8. Later cars used a supercharged version with a small block Chevrolet V8.<\/p>\n<p>The Aero borrowed many stylistic traits from Italian exotica but is distinctly different from anything produced in America. For instance, the doors were made with a butterfly design and were air operated.<\/p>\n<p>The first Aero SC\/8T was painted Burnt Copper Pearl. This prototype pulled in a 3.1 second zero-to-sixty time at the Firebird raceway in March of 2004. Later it was sold at the 2008 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction for $189,200 USD. In the auction description they described the car as \u201cFirst of 2 Shelby Super Car Aero prototypes ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class='gallery-item'>\r\n            <div class='gallery-icon
