From a collector’s view, the Mark 2 Volante is the ultimate DB6. Only 36 handful of these cars were made and some included the performance benefits of the Vantage with its 325bhp, triple Weber equipped engine with open air motoring. <\/span><\/p>\n

The DB6 Volante was first released at the 1966 London Motor Show, but was only offered in Vantage specification on the Mark 2 model from 1969 onwards. It used the same interior as the coupe with the same chassis and engine, but had the signature Mark 2 wheel arches to accommodate larger wire wheels.<\/p>\n

As a performance upgrade, Aston Martin offered the Vantage engine which was identified on the body by a script on the fender vent. It replaced the SU carburetors with Weber 45 DCOE carburetors and used a compression ratio to offer 325bhp.<\/p>\n
