It was their first and only grand prix car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The chassis and engine of the car were similar to that of the DB3S.<\/p>\n<p>Aston Martin experienced a breif and unsuccessfull grand prix effort in 1959. It was short race season, with DBR4s appearing at every second grand prix race. Little success was achieved by the DBR4 or DBR5 with a revised 80 degree head. It is important to note that the companies&#8217; first year in Grand Prix was developmental. Outright victory is rare for a newcomer.<\/p>\n<p>With good talent behind the wheel, Aston Martin cancelled the single seater program in 1960.
