1966 Aston Martin Short Chassis Volante<\/h1>\n
\n

As an interim model between the DB5 and Db6, the Short Chassis Volante was one of the rarest Aston Martins. It used a short DB5 chassis but featured the front end from the DB6 with a DB5 tail. Futhermore, it was the first Aston Martin to adopt the Volante term which would be used for many subsequent convertibles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since it was based on the DB5 chassis, it used the DB5 engine and suspension.<\/p>\n

The car is easily identified from the rear-end with a DB5 design which has no rear Kamm tail or spoiler, but uses the split bumper design from the DB6.<\/p>\n

Only 37 examples of the Short Chassis Volante were built until the model was replaced by the DB6 Volante<\/p>\n
