{"id":290005,"date":"2016-06-28T01:44:22","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T01:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=290005"},"modified":"2024-04-05T19:17:15","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T19:17:15","slug":"2016-le-mans-toyota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2016-le-mans-toyota\/","title":{"rendered":"IMAGE GALLERY: 2016 Le Mans &#8211; Hearbreak for Toyota"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section html tx_justify nomargint nomarginb\">\n<div>\n<h1>2016 Le Mans &#8211;\u00a0Toyota Gallery<\/h1>\n<p>Toyota GAZOO Racing finished second in the 84th edition of Le Mans 24 Hours but had the victory taken from its grasp in a cruel late twist.<\/p>\n<p>Both TS050 Hybrids took turns to lead the race as part of an exciting battle with the #2 Porsche and was poised to win with the #5 crew of Anthony Davidson, S\u00e9bastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima before incredible late drama.<\/p>\n<p>Starting what would have been the penultimate lap, with Kazuki at the wheel, the #5 suffered a sudden loss of power. Despite strenuous efforts to restore drive, the car struggled round the lap and stopped on the start-finish line.
