{"id":290023,"date":"2016-06-28T02:02:22","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T02:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=290023"},"modified":"2024-02-11T19:03:33","modified_gmt":"2024-02-11T19:03:33","slug":"image-gallery-2016-le-mans-3rd-4th-audi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/image-gallery-2016-le-mans-3rd-4th-audi\/","title":{"rendered":"IMAGE GALLERY: 2016 Le Mans &#8211; 3rd and 4th for Audi"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Image Gallery &#8211; 2016 Le Mans &#8211; Audi<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Audi on podium for 18th time in Le Mans 24 Hours<\/li>\n<li>Both Audi R18 finish in spite of issues<\/li>\n<li>Valuable World Championship points for both Audi squads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/audi\/\">Audi<\/a> took to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/category\/misc\/car-events\/24-hours-of-le-mans\/\">Le Mans<\/a> podium for a remarkable 18th time, claiming 3rd and 4th position in the ultimate endurance race.<\/p>\n<p>In a dramatic race that was only decided on the last lap\u00a0the Audi drivers\u00a0claimed\u00a0third place for Audi at the last moment with the other car coming into\u00a0position four.\u00a0The Audi cars had several issues throughout the race.\u00a0Audi R18 lost its chance for victory as early as in the second hour when Lotterer, while leading the race, had to pit for a change of the turbocharger. The\u00a0#8 Audi R18 kept pace with the front runners until a\u00a0defective brake disc caused the deficit to increase to twelve laps four hours before the end of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, Audi still achieved its aim in bringing both new cars home and to score valuable points for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) that will continue with the 6-hour race at the N\u00fcrburgring in Germany on July 24.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/image-gallery-2016-le-mans-3rd-4th-audi\/a166071_large\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-290029\"><img
