{"id":297837,"date":"2020-10-11T01:36:48","date_gmt":"2020-10-11T05:36:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/?p=297837"},"modified":"2024-12-02T20:48:45","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T20:48:45","slug":"petersen-automotive-museum-online-exhibits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/petersen-automotive-museum-online-exhibits\/","title":{"rendered":"Petersen Automotive Museum Features Three Exciting Online Exhibits"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>The Petersen Automotive Museum is inviting everyone to preview three brand-new virtual exhibits before the museum is reopened to the public.\u00a0This is the first time that a major museum has ever displayed three new exhibits via an online platform.\u00a0You can access the exhibits by clicking on the link at the bottom of this article.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The new exhibits to be displayed are as follows:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Supercars: A Century of Spectacle and Speed\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The exhibit\u00a0features the evolution of the supercar.\u00a0For almost fifty years, supercars have been dreamed of by both teenagers and adults alike. These cars exemplify on-track performance and it embodies the effect\u00a0of what an exceptional limited-production model can do to a brand\u2019s image. In this exhibit, the most iconic supercars will be gathered in one place. From the children of the 60s to the kids of the 90s, all the cars that they have grown to love and admire will be on display. Vehicles of note that will be on display include the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/ferrari-f40\/\">1991 Ferrari F40<\/a>, 1998 McLaren F1 LM, and a 1984 <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/ferrari-288-gto-reunion\/\">Ferrari 288 GTO<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Extreme Conditions, Supported by Land Rover\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This exhibit puts the spotlight on 11 custom competition, recreational, and utilitarian off-roading vehicles. The\u00a0Extreme Conditions exhibit features a rock crawler Jeep that was raced by the late <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jessi_Combs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jessi Combs<\/a> named \u201cGoldirocks,\u201d a 1989 Porsche 964 that was raced in the Mexican 100 dubbed \u201cDesert Flyer,\u201d and a 2020 Land Rover Defender Trek vehicle. Other notable vehicles that will be displayed are the two vehicles that have traveled more than 1,000 miles across Antarctica and the South Pole, being the two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerosouth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zero South Hummer H1s<\/a> that had\u00a0Mattracks\u00a0conversions.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Redefining Performance, Supported by Porsche\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This exhibit highlights Porsche\u2019s history as they transitioned from the track to the road.
