“It’s something we would continue to look at, and as much as you’d get me to stand on stage and swear we’d never build an SUV, I wouldn\u2019t take that position on a 2+2”, Flewitt told Auto Express. “I can see four seats, but not four doors,” he added, ruling out the possibility of a McLaren sedan. \u201cWe\u2019d look at it, see if it\u2019s what the market wants and see if it would still have the driving attributes that you\u2019d want from our cars \u2013 you would have to use a slightly longer wheelbase so you would lose a little of the agility that\u2019s there. McLaren has said in the past that it won\u2019t be expanding its current three tiers beyond the current Sports, Super and Ultimate Series, but Flewitt couldn\u2019t clarify where a four-seater McLaren would slot in, suggesting that it \u201ccould be either the Sports Series or Ultimate Series.\u201d A four-seater sports car would allow McLaren to compete against the Porsche Panamera and Ferrari GTC4Lusso to spawn a new holy trinity of grand-tourers. This isn\u2019t the first time McLaren has mused about making a four-seater sports car.
