This&nbsp;Built in America supercar is an old school racing car turned into customer car (that&#8217;s basically what old man Ferrari did BTW).<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;SCG 004S has a twin-turbocharged 5-litre engine with a 8,200 rpm redline mounted in the middle of the car. It produces 650 bhp and 531 lb ft of torque run to the rear-axle through a six-speed manual gearbox with a gated shift lever. It uses carbon fiber throughout the chassis and body delivering a claimed weight of around 2,600 lbs.&nbsp;The result is a power-to-weight ratio of 560 bhp\/per tonne that puts the car on par with the venerable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/mclaren-f1\/\">McLaren F1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We love the nod to old Ferraris with the gated shifter, reminds us of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/1986-ferrari-328-gts\/\">Ferrari 328<\/a>. If manuals offend you, SCG also has the option of a paddle shift gearbox instead.&nbsp;The instruments and controls are overwhelmingly analog with traditional dials and switches in place of modern touchscreen menus. The only nod to tech is the iPhone dock which we assume will handle all music and navigation related tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Joining the 004S will be the race-spec 004C which will be designed to allow drivers to compete in GTE and GT Le Mans racing series.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve read this far you&#8217;re probably wondering what comes next. Good news is that SCG is now accepting deposits of $40,000 for the $400,000 base price 004S. All &#8220;founders edition&#8221; cars are gone, but you can still get on the list for a standard car.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SCG won&#8217;t have it all to themselves at this price point. Competition that immediately comes to mind is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2018-mclaren-720s\/\">McLaren 720S<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/ferrari-488-gtb-in-depth-review-and-comparison\/\">Ferrari 488 GTB<\/a>, which are both epic cars at the top of the supercar game. It is going to be interesting to see this play out, but at Supercars.net we&#8217;re always excited to see a new player come along and build some tasty sports cars.<\/p>\n<h2>SCG (Scuderia Cameron
