Bugatti La Voiture Noire<\/h1>\n

The aptly named Bugatti<\/a> La Voiture Noire is a one-off project based on the Chiron but customized extensively.<\/strong> It features hand-crafted custom carbon fiber bodywork. Bugatti calls it the ultimate GT car<\/a>, and we can see why. It’s a sleek black shadow of a thing that pulls its inspiration from the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The powerplant isn’t the big surprise here. The La Voiture Noire gets the familiar 8.0-liter W16 that makes 1,479 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque.<\/strong> That engine is far from ordinary, though, so it’s plenty special enough for the ultra-unique vehicle. There are six exhaust pipes peeking out the rear of the car.<\/p>\n

While the engine may not be a huge surprise, the overall aesthetic of the car certainly is. It’s sleek and dangerous looking, like a much more attractive Darth Vader helmet.<\/strong> The window design even quite looks like the visor of a helmet. The unique bodywork lets your eye flow right over the entirety of the car. Nothing really disturbs the flow, which is quite impressive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even more surprising than the exterior of the car is its price tag. The one-off vehicle sold for $18.9 million with taxes included.<\/strong> We recently reported that the car would cost about this much. If the rumors are true, former VW chairman Ferdinand Piech was the man who paid for the car.<\/strong> All we know is that this is one gorgeous land rocket from Bugatti, and we wish it wasn’t just a one-off.<\/p>\n
