As If the 720S Spider Needed to Get Any Better<\/h2>\n

McLaren debuted the MSO version of the 720S Spider<\/a> at the Geneva Motor Show<\/strong> alongside all of the other various super and hypercars there. It’s a gorgeous example of what the McLaren Special Operations team can really do. The team took the already stellar 720S Spider<\/a> and added an interesting tri-color paint job to it among some other special equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The different colors are all different shades of blue, created specifically for the car by MSO. The team used the three special hues on the aero parts of the car to accentuate them. MSO chief designer Darryl Scriven said that the 720S Spider merges artistry and aerodynamics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aerodynamic innovation is such an integral part of the 720S Spider that using this new paint design to highlight areas that work hard to manage how air flows over the car \u2013 literally how the car \u2018breathes\u2019 \u2013 was the natural approach to take.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The car also gets a special MSO gloss finish carbon fiber tonneau cover and carbon fiber diffuser.<\/strong> MSO them fitted the 720S Spider with a sports exhaust, 10-spoke lightweight wheels, an electrochromic glass removable roof, and McLaren’s Stealth package.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inside the cabin, the car features black and blue.<\/strong> Black is the primary color, but there are numerous dark blue accents throughout the cabin, including on the gauges, dash, door panels and seats.<\/p>\n

As far as the powertrain goes, MSO didn’t fiddle with the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.<\/strong> Like other 720S Spiders and the coupe that came before it, the engine makes 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 212 mph with the top up.<\/p>\n
