Resurrecting an Icon<\/h2>\n

We’ve reported on the Manifattura Automobili Torino New Stratos<\/a> before. The company is trying to pick up where Lancia left off<\/a> with its legendary rally car. The New Stratos debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The car stays true to the original car’s style, and it appears to have the serious performance chops we hoped it would.<\/p>\n

The New Stratos looks exactly like we wanted a new version of the vehicle to look. The company was surprisingly able to stay true to the original car’s styling for the most part. The overall wedge shape, the round headlights, the white, red and green livery. It’s all there. The racing livery is for the rally-inspired version of the car. The other car on show in Geneva is a blue one with a couple of racing stripes running the length of the car.<\/p>\n

Powering the New Stratos is a 4.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that Manifattura Automobili Torino sourced from Ferrari. It’s the Ferrari 430 Scuderia mill. The engine makes a strong 540 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The company managed to fit a six-speed manual transmission to the engine, which is a very good thing. That’s not to say the semi-auto transmission that was included on the 430 Scuderia was bad. However, if you buy a Stratos, you want a manual gearbox.<\/p>\n

Manifattura Automobili Torino will limit production to 25 units, which isn’t much at all, but we’re just glad to see the car in production. The company is asking $564,000 for each one of the vehicles.<\/p>\n
