\"1936<\/a>Worldwide Auctioneers has confirmed that a 1936 Delahaye 135S Competition Court Teardrop Coupe will join the line-up of consignments due to cross the stage at its fifth Houston Classic Auction on May 2nd.<\/p>\n

The Delahaye is bodied with alloy coachwork by French coachbuilders Figoni and Falaschi, who debuted the first of the legendary teardrop designs on this chassis. As the name suggests, it sports the short wheelbase chassis of the racer and indeed comes complete with fully documented race history.<\/p>\n

“This splendid automobile, a recent arrival in the USA, has been restored to the highest of concours standards and has not yet been shown. Its fortunate new owner will have the unique opportunity to present the car for the very first time, as a welcome entrant at any of the world’s greatest Concours. We are very pleased to mention that it has just been accepted to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, a stunning venue for such a stunning automobile,” said Rod Egan, Managing Partner and Chief Auctioneer.<\/p>\n

The Delahaye joins a strong group of consignments at the Houston Classic Auction, alongside a stately Pebble Beach Award winning 1933 Duesenberg LaGrande Dual Cowl Phaeton, gorgeous 1951 Ferrari 340 America Berlinetta Coupe and important factory prototype 1954 Jaguar XK D-Type<\/a>, known as the “glass fibre car”.<\/p>\n
