{"id":348732,"date":"2019-08-13T13:51:55","date_gmt":"2019-08-13T13:51:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=348732"},"modified":"2024-12-09T00:35:55","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T00:35:55","slug":"porsches-cayenne-turbo-s-e-hybrid-is-crazy-powerful-and-crazy-quick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsches-cayenne-turbo-s-e-hybrid-is-crazy-powerful-and-crazy-quick\/","title":{"rendered":"2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">More Powerful Than Most 911s<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;re pretty firm believers that sports cars are always going to be more enticing than SUVs, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?s=Porsche+Cayenne\">Porsche Cayenne<\/a> Turbo S E-Hybrid that <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.porsche.com\/en\/2019\/products\/porsche-cayenne-turbo-coupe-plug-in-hybrid-suv-electric-18359.html\">Porsche recently released<\/a> wants to challenge that assertion. <strong>The SUV is a super-powerful hybrid that can sprint to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 183 mph.<\/strong> That&#8217;s sports car fast, and the Cayenne can handle some twisty roads, too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>With 670 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque,<\/strong> the vehicle makes more torque than most of the rest of Porsche&#8217;s lineup. Yep, almost all of those gorgeous 911 variants come up short in a measuring contest against Cayenne&#8217;s power output. This is one seriously sporty SUV.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Power comes from a <strong>twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine mated to an electric motor.<\/strong> The electric motor puts out 134 hp on its own. The rest comes from the gasoline engine. Transmitting all that power to the road is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and power goes to all four wheels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you might expect, adding the hybrid tech\u2014like the 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery and the dense motor\u2014adds quite a bit of weight to the Cayenne, which is likely one of the reasons the vehicle makes so much dang power. It&#8217;s a freakish machine for an era when SUVs keep getting more and more outrageous. <strong>Porsche has set the price at $163,250 there&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2020-porsche-cayenne-coupe\/\">a coupe version<\/a> that adds $2,500 to the price.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class='gallery-item'>\r\n            <div
