Luckily, though, it’s not all bad news. <\/p>\n
The New Powertrain Might Not Be So Bad<\/h3>\n
The engine that Mercedes-AMG will use is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that’s already available in some other Mercedes cars. This engine is no slouch. Mercedes manages to get 416 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque out of it. Pair that with a mild-hybrid system and an integrated 48V motor, and you’re looking at a powertrain that has the potential to punch out over 500 hp. <\/strong><\/p>\nThat is actually more than the current twin-turbo V8 that’s in the car. While the new powertrain would lack the overall feel and exhaust note of the V8, 500 hp in the C63 sounds pretty good to us.
