An Electric Mustang Crossover<\/h2>\n

If you were to ask hardcore Mustang fans about the possibility of an electric Mustang<\/a> crossover even a year ago, they would have griped and groaned about it. Well, now it’s a reality<\/a>. Meet the Mustang Mach-E. The company recently revealed the vehicle and showed off five different variants of the vehicle. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A Mach-E for Everbody<\/h3>\n

Five? Yep. There’s the entry-level Select grade<\/strong> to start things off. The vehicle features rear or all-wheel drive, a 75.7 kWh battery pack, 225 hp, and a range of about 230 miles (rear-wheel drive). The all-wheel-drive version’s stats are slightly less impressive. <\/p>\n

Then comes the Mach-E Premium<\/strong>. This version gets two configurations standard or long-range and comes in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It has the same power as the Select, but a larger 98.8 kWh battery. This allows for about 300 miles of range (rear-wheel-drive, long-range). The long-range version does come with more power at 282 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque. Again, the all-wheel-drive version doesn’t go quite as far per charge. <\/p>\n

The Mach-E California Route<\/strong> is the next step up. This version is a rear-wheel-drive model with 282 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque. It has a range of about 300 miles. Then there’s the Mach-E First Edition<\/strong>, which is a long-range model with all-wheel drive. It makes 333 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque as well as about a 270-mile range.  <\/p>\n

The last of the five different versions is the Mach-E GT<\/strong>. This model’s specifications aren’t totally known yet. However, the company said the model will have around 459 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. It will come only with all-wheel drive and the 98.8 kWh battery pack. Because the focus on this model is the performance, the range will sit around 235 miles per charge. Ford said the Mach-E GT will be able to do a 0-60 run of about three and a half seconds, which is about half the time of the others.<\/p>\n

Charging Info<\/h3>\n

The Mustang Mach-E comes with a mobile charger that can add 22 miles of charge for every hour of charging<\/strong> when connected to a standard 240-volt outlet. There’s also the Ford Connected Charging Station. It, too, uses a 240-volt outlet, but that adds 32 miles for every hour of charging<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The Mach-E can also be plugged into a DC fast charger. With this type of 150 kW charger, the battery can go from 10 percent to 80 percent charge in about 38 minutes<\/strong>. These are not bad numbers at all. They’re also not going to blow many other electric cars away. <\/p>\n

Interior<\/h3>\n

The Mustang Mach-E’s interior is handsome but it’s a far cry from other Mustang interiors. The dash layout is pretty simple and the steering wheel features the Mustang logo. The most impressive part of the interior is the large, central screen. It is a touchscreen and measures 15.5 inches<\/strong>. Ford says this screen runs the latest version of the Ford Sync system. <\/p>\n
