Established in 1910, it was one of the first car companies established in Italy. In 1923, during the birth years of international grand prix racing, a young driver named Enzo Ferrari was brought on board to the company, and we all know what happened with him.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, however, Alfa has had a bit of a rough time of things. Falling sales and the cancellation of the mid-range Giulia GTV and range-topping planned supercar 8C seemed to be putting the nails in the coffin at the Italian marque. In fact, sales of new Alfa Romeo&#8217;s have dropped so low that there were rumors of the company being absorbed in part or in whole into Fiat or Ferrari.<\/p>\n<p>That was, until this past weekend&#8230; (make sure your sound is on)<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udd08sound on<br \/>See you at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GIMSSWISS?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#GIMSSWISS<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AlfaRomeo?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AlfaRomeo<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yIUPYEiTkj\">pic.twitter.com\/yIUPYEiTkj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Alfa_Romeo (@alfa_romeo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alfa_romeo\/status\/1231140877608812544?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 22, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A momentous comeback.&#8221; That has the entirety of the supercar and high-end performance car world abuzz with excitement.<\/p>\n<p>With the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/alfa-romeo-4c\/\">Alfa Romeo 4C<\/a> being discontinued, the only current performance model is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/alfa-romeo-giulia-quadrifoglio-shows-off-its-speed-at-the-anglesey-circuit\/\">Giulia QF,<\/a> a 4 door sedan with a fairly ridiculously awesome combination of luxury and power that competes head to head with the AMG C63S and BMW M3.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-358148 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault.jpg\" alt=\"2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrafoglio\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault-100x56.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault-770x433.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/maxresdefault-293x165.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Running a Ferrari-derived, twin turbo, 90 degree V6 that chucks out 510 HP, it also has one of the raunchiest, dirtiest exhaust notes to ever come from Italy. Not the sophisticated scream one would expect, but a growling, popping, roaring sound that shook mountains. The base model 1965 GTA Sprint, for example, had 115 HP in a car that weighed 1,810 lbs, and could reach speeds of 120 MPH.
