{"id":363041,"date":"2020-05-27T21:57:09","date_gmt":"2020-05-27T21:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=363041"},"modified":"2024-12-17T19:02:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T19:02:03","slug":"porsche-992-911-gt3-roars-during-nordschleife-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsche-992-911-gt3-roars-during-nordschleife-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: Porsche 992 911 GT3 Roars During Nordschleife Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the Nurburgring Nordschleife reopened to tourist drives (touristenfahrten) earlier in the month, more and more people are now going to the Nordschleife.<\/p>\n<p>This is good news for those hoping to spy a car or two out there quietly, or in this case, not so quietly, doing testing and validation runs.<\/p>\n<p>YouTuber Automotive Mike was able, over a day and with some hiking around the track, to capture the sound of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/guide-the-all-new-porsche-911-992-everything-you-need-to-know\/\">Type 992 911<\/a> GT3.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"2021 PORSCHE 992 GT3 SPIED TESTING AT THE N\u00dcRBURGRING\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GYaSUfPLyII?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"2021 PORSCHE 992 GT3 SPIED TESTING AT THE N\u00dcRBURGRING\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GYaSUfPLyII?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>The first thing that is readily apparent from the video is that this thing is loud. <em>Really <\/em>loud. You-can-hear-it-miles-away loud. Which we approve of wholeheartedly!<\/p>\n<p>What point is there in having a super-sport spec Porsche without it making its presence known? It appears as well that previous recordings of the 992 GT3, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsche-992-911-gt3-testing-at-monza\/\">such as when it was testing at Monza<\/a>, had baffled exhausts, as the car has gotten a <em>lot<\/em> louder since then.<\/p>\n<p>The second thing that is readily apparent from the video, especially going through the Quiddelbacher Hohe turn at 42 seconds in, and down the Dottinger Hohe at 1 minute and 50 seconds, is that this thing is fast. The green car in front of it on the Dottinger Hohe is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2018-porsche-911-gt3\/\">991.2 911 GT3<\/a> and it easily keeps up with it, almost getting alongside before disappearing behind some trees.<\/p>\n<p>And best of all, the only camouflage on this version appears to be a slight rear bumper shroud, so the fully centralized exhausts, massive spoiler, huge front air intake, and underbody aerodynamics are on full display!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since the Nurburgring Nordschleife reopened to tourist drives (touristenfahrten) earlier in the month, more and more people are now going to the Nordschleife.
