{"id":367624,"date":"2020-08-24T20:23:20","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T20:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=367624"},"modified":"2024-12-08T13:16:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-08T13:16:11","slug":"drag-race-porsche-taycan-turbo-s-vs-tesla-model-s-cheetah-stance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/drag-race-porsche-taycan-turbo-s-vs-tesla-model-s-cheetah-stance\/","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: Drag Race: Porsche Taycan Turbo S VS Tesla Model S Cheetah Stance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While we keep saying that manufacturer quoted 0 to 60 times really don&#8217;t mean all that much, CarWow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/watch-a-mclaren-p1-drag-race-against-a-porsche-taycan-turbo-s\/\">keeps doing<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/watch-a-drag-race-between-a-urus-a-dbx\/\">drag races<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/tesla-model-3-performance-vs-porsche-911-carrera-s-drag-race\/\">between cars<\/a>, and honestly, as we have reported many times, we don&#8217;t get sick of them.<\/p>\n<p>This time, they&#8217;ve pitted the two &#8220;fastest&#8221; electric cars against one another, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/porsche-taycan-turbo-and-turbo-s\/\">2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/the-tesla-model-s-is-faster-than-the-porsche-taycan-at-the-nurburgring\/\">Tesla Model S Performance<\/a> in Cheetah Stance mode. We used quotes around fastest, as next year the first of the electric hypercars, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/the-first-performance-figures-for-the-lotus-evija-ev-emerge\/\">Lotus Evija EV<\/a>, is expected to land.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"Tesla Model S Cheetah Stance vs Porsche Taycan Turbo S: DRAG RACE!\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ItCGU7BTBv8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"Tesla Model S Cheetah Stance vs Porsche Taycan Turbo S: DRAG RACE!\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ItCGU7BTBv8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>As per usual, the tale of the tape!<\/p>\n<p>In the black corner, we have the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. With dual electric motors, one for each axle, it produces the equivalent of 750 HP and 774 lbs-ft of torque. It is a pretty hefty car, however, at 5,060 lbs (2,295 kg).<\/p>\n<p>In the blue corner, we have the Tesla Model S Performance (aka P100D) set up in cheetah stance mode, running plaid drive mode, which drops the front suspension some and puts the entire car into a hunkered down, instant response launch mode. Like the Taycan, the Model S Performance is set up with dual electric motors, one for each axle, and produces the equivalent of\u00a0 825 HP and 956 lbs-ft of torque. From a roll, the Tesla does have the jump some, but the Porsche ends up beating it.
