That very composite experimental body accompanies the car today and will be included in the sale of this magnificent piece of Jaguar lore. Adorned with proper D-Type coachwork in the 1970&#8217;s and built into a conventional production D-Type, this one-of-a-kind sports car has been successfully raced with FIA papers ever since and is regarded as a significant piece of Jaguar&#8217;s racing history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Few of us could dream of owning such an historical road-going sports racer as this&#8221;, said Rod Egan, Managing Partner and Chief Auctioneer. &#8220;It represents a truly unique opportunity for a collector to acquire a &#8216;key cog&#8217; in the developmental stages of Jaguar&#8217;s most well known and respected racing automobiles. Simply put, the car and its history are spectacular.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other early consignments at the fifth Houston Classic Auction include a 1933 Duesenberg LaGrande Dual Cowl Phaeton, 1936 Delahaye 135 S Competition Court Teardrop Coupe, 1951 Ferrari 340 America Berlinetta Coupe, 1960 Scarab Grand Prix Race Car, <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/archives\/2869\">1965 Guldstrand Corvette Race Car<\/a> and 1957 Chevrolet Corvette COPO race car.
