Gooding & Company’s 2009 Pebble Beach Auction will be held Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August, 16th at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center in Pebble Beach, California.<\/p>\n

Gooding & Company’s 5th annual auction, held in association with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, will feature over 160 cars, including more than 15 estimated to reach bids of $1,000,000 and 80 cars at no reserve.<\/p>\n

Gooding has several very notable cars, highlighted by Ettore Bugatti’s personal 1938 Bugatti Type 57C; Pininfarina-designed 1963 Chevrolet Corvette “Rondine”; 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder; 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spyder; 1955 Ghia Streamline X “Gilda”; 1935 Duesenberg SJ Roadster and 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 300 Drop Head Coupe.<\/p>\n

Gooding also features many significant race cars, including the Don Lyon Collection’s 1967 Gurney Eagle Indy Car and 1964 Dean Van Lines Roadster, in addition to the 1953 Bell Engine “Crankshaft Special,” 1955 Ferrari 500 Mondial Series I, 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Race Rat and 1969 Ferrari 312 Formula One.<\/p>\n

Gooding’s 2008 Pebble Beach auction netted $64,228,300, boosted by the 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante Coupe that sold for $7.92 million, a record for the highest price ever paid for an automobile at a North American auction. The record may be short-lived, as the ex-Ettore Bugatti 1938 Bugatti Type 57C has what it takes to set the bar even higher.<\/p>\n

The Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction is located at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. Auction preview days will be from Wednesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 16, 2009. The Saturday evening auction will start at 5:00 PM and the Sunday evening auction at 6:00 PM. Auction catalogs are available for $100 and admit two to the viewing and the auction. Bidder registration is $200 and includes reserved seating for two and a catalog. General admission to the viewing and the auction can be purchased at the tent for $40 per person.<\/p>\n
