More than 30 years after its inception, the Concours d\u2019Elegance of America at Meadow Brook (previously Meadow Brook Concours d\u2019Elegance) will once again be take place on the historic grounds of the Meadow Brook estate, located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Held the weekend of July 23rd, 2010, the annual event continues to bring automotive history, heritage and prestige to the Detroit area.<\/p>\n

Concours organizers announced the schedule for this anticipated vintage car weekend, kicking-off on Friday, July 23rd with the Motoring Tour.This year, entrants will enjoy a time-honored tradition while seeing the area from a new route, which includes a tour of the Rochester Hills Museum, a rest at Stony Creek Park for a box lunch, followed by a reception and dessert at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester. Tour tickets are $100 for each car and driver, and an additional $35 per passenger. Alternatively, Concours participants can also choose to attend a VIP Tour of the General Motors\u2019 Tech Center on Friday. Tickets are $85 and include a lunch at Meadow Brook Hall prior to departure.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, July 24th, vintage auto enthusiasts enjoy the thrill of the auction with RM Auctions’ 16th annual \u2018Vintage Motor Cars at Meadow Brook\u2019 sale, to be held at the Shotwell-Gustafson Pavilion. Early entries to this year\u2019s auction include a pair of Model J Duesenbergs – a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan with coachwork by Murphy, and a 1932 Duesenberg Model J Torpedo Berline Rollston; and a 1903 Ford Model A Rear Entrance Tonneau, the earliest surviving Ford in existence today.<\/p>\n

Following the auction, the Concours hosts its Gala Dinner at the GM Heritage Center for the first time. It houses a vast archive documenting GM\u2019s rich history of innovation, and is home to the 200 vehicles of the GM Heritage Collection. Tickets for the Gala are available for $150 per person.<\/p>\n

The weekend concludes with its main event \u2013 the Concours d\u2019Elegance of America held on the grounds of the Meadow Brook Estate. Starting at 10am on Sunday, July 25th, the Car Selection Committee plans an exciting line-up for the 2010 show, with a field of over 230 cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne day every summer, car enthusiasts from all over the region congregate for a showing of some of the finest automobiles in the world. We feature something for everyone. The greatest collection of Brass and Classic Cars that Meadow Brook is known for,\u201d states Larry Moss, Chairman of the Car Selection Committee. \u201cSports Cars, Muscle Cars, European Luxury Cars, 50’s and 60’s represented, racing motorcycles, Drag Racing, and special displays of new Super Cars – Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, and others. It’s an automobile extravaganza that makes one stop, one day, not to be seen again together. Auto Nirvana for the enthusiast!\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets are on sale now at the value of $25 per person, including the program, parking, and shuttle service. They can be purchased at www.meadowbrookconcours.org\/tickets<\/a>. New this year, VIP Tickets which include show day admission, VIP parking, lunch in the Christopher Wren Dining Room at Meadow Brook Hall, a souvenir program book, a 2010 poster, and admission to the VIP Viewing Tent are available for $125.<\/p>\n
