It is important to celebrate his passion and ingenuity that is an inspiration for Americans and motorsports enthusiasts alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Key automobiles on display include the 1965 GT350 R 002, the first model R ever made in barn find condition; 1968 GT500 \u201cGreen Hornet,\u201d a one-off notchback used as a test bed for fuel injection and independent rear suspension; 1967 GT 500 \u201cSuper Snake,\u201d featuring a Le Mans 427 engine that cleared 170 mph and averaged 142 mph during testing; 1966 GT 350 Convertible, one of four ever made; and the1965 GT350 Drag Race, one of only three remaining in the world. The 2011 Shelby GT 350 and a collection of iconic Shelby Cobras will also be displayed.<\/p>\n<p>The eighth annual Quail Motorsports Gathering will also celebrate the Milestone Cars of 1934, the landmark year started the innovation of aerodynamic designs in the automobile; the Alfa Romeo Special Coachbuilders and German Race Cars Featuring N\u00fcrburgring, the most dangerous and demanding motorsports complex in the world.
