The headline 1958 Ferrari 250 \u2018Pontoon Fender\u2019 Testa Rossa did not sell at the high bid of $10,700,000. All together, RM achieved 16 sales in excess of one million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thoroughly pleased with the results from the weekend\u2019s sale. They build upon RM\u2019s seven previous successful sales this year, including the record-breaking inaugural Monaco event, and are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the entire RM team,\u201d says Rob Myers, Founder and Chairman, RM Auctions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe high-caliber of consignments combined with accurate estimates provided by our expert team of car specialists led to the very strong 95 percent sell-through and record number of over 1,000 bidder registrations from 29 countries around the world, including Monaco, Brazil, Japan and the United Arab Emirates,\u201d Myers added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the major sales, a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe sold for $110,000, with proceeds benefiting the Double H Ranch, a non-profit organization based in New York State that provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>RM\u2019s Sports &amp; Classics of Monterey auction results were complemented by success on the show field when the 1933 Delage D8S de Villars Roadster, owned by the Patterson Collection in Louisville, Kentucky, and restored by RM Auto Restoration, was named \u2018Best of Show\u2019 at the Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance 2010. Total sales volume was $67,004,800, inclusive of buyer\u2019s premiums. The average price per car sold was $329,597. Last year, RM Auctions offered 239 cars for sale, with 206 finding new owners, reflecting an 86% sale rate.
