The second race of the 2011 North American Ferrari Challenge Series was held May 21-22 at the 11-turn, 2.238-mile Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca road course in Salinas, California.<\/p>\n

The Ferrari Racing Days Series offers Ferrari owners the opportunity to compete against each other at venues throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to the Ferrari F430 Challenge the new Ferrari 458 Challenge race cars, the Corse Clienti Department’s 599XX, FXX and F1 Clienti programs participated on the track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.<\/p>\n

The Ferrari Historic Race – Trofeo Shell was also held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, albeit with only a handful of vintage Ferraris taking part. This Ferrari Historic series is eligible only to Ferraris that have received the Certificate of Authenticity or Attestation for Vehicle of Historic Interest and have a FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP). Also eligible are Ferraris originally designed for road use that were raced in competition at the time of their sale; documentation supporting that these cars weren’t built specifically for competition use is also required. Such vehicles must be in their original configuration with the exception of changes made to comply with FIA safety requirements.<\/p>\n

The Ferrari Challenge Series is organized by Ferrari North America, Inc., and is sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association. Following this race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the 2011 Ferrari Challenge Series will continue to Montreal, Canada, (during the Canadian F1 Grand Prix), June 10-12; Toronto, Canada, July 8-10; Lime Rock Park, CT, July 29-30; concluding at Homestead Miami Speedway, FL, September 23-25.
