{"id":369433,"date":"2011-07-06T07:00:42","date_gmt":"2011-07-06T11:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/?p=35766"},"modified":"2024-12-06T03:34:01","modified_gmt":"2024-12-06T03:34:01","slug":"gooding-pebble-beach-auction-2011-ferrari-consignments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/gooding-pebble-beach-auction-2011-ferrari-consignments\/","title":{"rendered":"Gooding Pebble Beach Auction 2011 &#8211; Ferrari Consignments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gooding &amp; Company will feature five coachbuilt Ferraris at its 2011 Pebble Beach Auctions, scheduled for August 20-21 in Pebble Beach, California.<\/p>\n<p>The bespoke Ferraris span the first 15 years of Ferrari\u2019s production history, with each premiering as show models at Europe\u2019s leading motor shows: 1950 Ferrari 195 Inter by Touring, 1953 Ferrari 375 America by Vignale, 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta by Pinin Farina, 1957 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series II Coupe by Pinin Farina and a 1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Coupe Aerodinamica by Pininfarina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to present more than 15 collector-quality Ferraris at our Pebble Beach Auctions this year,\u201d says President and founder David Gooding. \u201cThese ultra-rare, low-production Ferraris, such as the \u201850s- and \u201860s-era show cars we\u2019re offering, will continue to hold their value and reward those with a passion for the best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The headliine Ferraris join Gooding &amp; Company\u2019s previously announced Pebble Beach Auction highlights, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/whittell-duesenberg-at-gooding-pebble-beach-2011\/\">Whittell Coupe<\/a>, a 1931 Duesenberg Model J; Bentley\u2019s Chassis 3, a <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/gooding-pebble-beach-auction-2011-featured-consignments\/\">1921 Bentley 3 Litre; and a 1931 Brough Superior SS80<\/a>, formerly owned by Steve McQueen and Von Dutch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gooding &amp; Company Pebble Beach Auction 2011 &#8211; Featured Ferrari Consignments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Coupe Aerodinamica, Chassis No. 5021 SA (pictured above) &#8211; The 1963 Geneva Motor Show car, this 400 Superamerica Coupe is one of only 14 covered-headlight Aerodinamicas bodied by Pininfarina. After initially being sold to an Italian buyer, the car spent many years among American enthusiasts. 5021 SA remains a correct, matching-numbers, original-bodied example and is eligible for a wide variety of tours and events. It was sold new to an American buyer and later acquired by the famous oil magnate H.L. Hunt. It has been enjoyed by the same family since 1969 and will be presented at auction for the first time ever. With original paint and less than 19,000 miles, 0715 SA has earned Preservation Class honors at the Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance, Ferrari Nationals and Concorso Italiano. As a pre-production model with several noteworthy features, it was displayed at the 1956 Geneva Motor Show in the same color combination it wears today \u2013 silver capped by a cherry-red roof. It features a competition-derived engine and has been certified by Ferrari Classiche as a correct, matching-numbers example. With an ownership history strongly rooted in Southern California, this fully-restored, FCA Platinum Award-winning car has participated in the Mille Miglia Storica four times, as well as the California Mille. Estimate of $650,000 &#8211; $800,000.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Gooding &amp; Company Pebble Beach Auction 2011 will see several other prancing horse offered, including a 1948 Ferrari 166 Spider Corsa (estimate available on request), 1952 Ferrari 225 Sport Berlinetta by Vignale (estimate $825,000 &#8211; $1 million), 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB (estimate $900,000 \u2013 $1.1 million without reserve), 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB\/4 Daytona Spider (estimate $1.1 million &#8211; $1.3 million) and a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO (estimate $700,000 &#8211; $850,000 without reserve).<\/p>\n<p>Recent noteworthy Ferrari sales by Gooding &amp; Company include a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Cabriolet that sold for $1.87 million at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/gooding-and-company-amelia-island-auction-2011-report\/\">2011 Amelia Island Auction<\/a>, a 2006 Ferrari FXX Evoluzione that sold for $2.09 million at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/gooding-and-company-scottsdale-auction-2011-report\/\">2011 Scottsdale Auctions<\/a>, a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider Competizione that sold for $7.26 million and a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta SEFAC Hot Rod that sold for $6.105 million at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/gooding-company-pebble-beach-2010-auction-report\/\">2010 Pebble Beach Auctions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 2011 Gooding &amp; Company Pebble Beach Auctions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 &amp; 21 at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, located at the corner of Portola Road and Stevenson Drive.
