{"id":369434,"date":"2011-07-07T07:00:02","date_gmt":"2011-07-07T11:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/?p=35803"},"modified":"2024-01-16T07:54:11","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T07:54:11","slug":"mullin-automotive-museum-celebrates-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/mullin-automotive-museum-celebrates-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"Mullin Automotive Museum Celebrates Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mullin Automotive Museum announced multiple additions to the famed collection in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the museum\u2019s founding.<\/p>\n<p>In the 12 months since its founding, the Mullin Automotive Museum hosted the <a title=\"Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/gooding-and-company-sells-1936-bugatti-type-57sc-atlantic\/\">1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic<\/a> to international acclaim, exhibited four unique Bugatti prototypes direct from Bugatti Automobiles SAS, was awarded <a title=\"Fairfield County Concours d&quot;Elegance 2010\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/fairfield-county-concours-delegance-2010-winners-and-photos\/\">\u201cBest of Show\u201d at the Fairfield County Concours d\u2019Elegance<\/a> and published The Art of Bugatti, a tribute to the numerous works of the Bugatti family represented in the Mullin Automotive Museum\u2019s collection. Further, Bugatti SAS bestowed Peter Mullin with its \u201cLifetime Achievement\u201d award for his great dedication to the historic marque.<\/p>\n<p>In just one year, the Mullin Automotive Museum\u2019s art and automobile collection has grown considerably while the museum continuously supports the automotive hobby through its participation in at least 25 automotive events, including three races, five rallies and 14 Concours d\u2019Elegance in the last year alone. Further to this, the museum has hosted numerous notable events at its facility in Oxnard, California.<\/p>\n<p>Within the museum, the staff has launched into the careful conservation of their 1925 Bugatti Type 27 Brescia that lay under the waters of Lago Maggiore for almost 75 years. The museum has also acquired a number of significant collections of books and original coachbuilder drawings that it is incorporating into its significant archive; a site that they hope will become an important resource for scholars of art and automobiles. With an eye on continued growth, the Mullin Automotive Museum welcomes many new additions to its collection, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mullin Automotive Museum New Vehicles<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance award-winning 1939 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante<\/li>\n<li>1924 Bucciali B6-C24 Grand Prix Reconstruction<\/li>\n<li>1910 Charron Type TC Convertible<\/li>\n<li>The 1951 Paris Auto Salon 1951 Talbot T26 Gran Sport Convertible<\/li>\n<li>1928 Lorraine Dietrich B3-6 Sports Roadster<\/li>\n<li>1923 Voisin C6 Laboratoire Replica<\/li>\n<li>1934 Voisin C27 Aerosport<\/li>\n<li>The Grand Prix de Tourisme Winning 1922 Voisin C3 S Grand Prix<\/li>\n<li>1919 Voisin C3 Berline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mullin Automotive Museum New Art<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Several significant Rembrandt Bugatti bronzes, including Barbara Bugatti en Robe a Longues Manches from 1906<\/li>\n<li>A very rare silver \u201cDragonfly\u201d footed bowl, circa 1907 by Carlo Bugatti<\/li>\n<li>More than fifteen crystal radiator mascots by the famed Parisian jeweler and glass maker Rene Lalique<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Beyond these recent additions, the Mullin Automotive Museum continues to house some of the most remarkable automobiles of the Art Deco era including the 1939 New York World\u2019s Fair Delahaye Type 165 Cabriolet, the 1938 Talbot Lago T150 C SS \u201cTeardrop\u201d Coupe that was formerly owned by racing champion and legendary playboy Woolf Barnato, and the 1939 Delage D8-120 Cabriolet featured in the Academy Award winning film \u201cAn American in Paris\u201d. These models and others in the collection will compliment the soon to be published book <em>French Curves: Delahaye, Delage and Talbot Lago<\/em> \u2013 the museum\u2019s follow-up to last year\u2019s\u00a0 <em>The Art of Bugatti<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Mullin Automotive Museum is a facility that pays homage to art deco and machine age design eras (1918-1941) that produced exquisite art and magnificent automobiles.
