A crowd of than 135,000 historic motorsport enthusiasts made their way to Goodwood to celebrate another epic motor racing weekend, the vast majority dressed in period fashions.<\/p>\n<p>On the track a tribute to the legendary racing driver <a title=\"Goodwood Revival 2011 - Juan Manuel Fangio Tribute\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/goodwood-revival-2011-juan-manuel-fangio-tribute\/\">Juan Manuel Fangio<\/a> &#8211; 100 years after this birth &#8211; saw a grid of rare and stunning cars associated with his career, including three spectacular Mercedes-Benz racers, plus two Chevrolets brought over from Argentina specifically for the Revival. A handful of drivers that knew and raced with Fangio were also on hand.<\/p>\n<p>The variety of racing machines and quality of motor racing was exceptional throughout the Revival weekend, with many nail-biting races and plenty of thrills \u2013 plus a few spills &#8211; along the way. Racing highlights included the <a title=\"Goodwood Revival 2011 - Fordwater Trophy Race\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/goodwood-revival-2011-fordwater-trophy-race\/\">Fordwater Trophy<\/a>, which this year was a Jaguar E-type race to mark the 50th anniversary of this legendary sports car. The 1964 semi-lightweight E-type of Jon Minshaw and Martin Stretton took the chequered flag.<\/p>\n<p>The thrilling <a title=\"Goodwood Revival 2011 - St. Mary's Trophy Race\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/goodwood-revival-2011-st-marys-trophy-race\/\">St. Mary\u2019s Trophy<\/a> for 1960s saloon cars saw Richard Shaw anchor a brilliant overall win with track victory in Sunday\u2019s second installment of this two-part race in the 1965 BMW 1800 TiSA. Tom Kristensen and Kenny Brack took an emphatic win in the rain in the <a title=\"Goodwood Revival 2011 - RAC Tourist Trophy Race\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/goodwood-revival-2011-rac-tourist-trophy-race\/\">Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy Celebration race<\/a> for GT cars aboard Daniela Ellerbrock\u2019s Shelby Daytona Cobra.<\/p>\n<p>Great racing to be sure, but at the Goodwood Revival that is only half the adventure.
