Dozens of photographers took untold numbers of photos, spending hours post-event analyzing and choosing the best ones in an effort to wow our readers. And did they ever&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It is now up to you to choose the best photo of the year. Similar to our <a title=\"Best Vintage Car Racing Photo of 2009\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/best-vintage-car-racing-photo-of-2009\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Best of 2009<\/strong><\/a> and <a title=\"Best Vintage Car Racing Photo of 2010\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/best-vintage-car-racing-photo-of-2010\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Best of 2010<\/strong><\/a> contests, we are asking for your assistance in helping us pick the very best vintage car racing picture from 2011. We narrowed down the thousands of photographs to the following 40 images, chosen solely upon the number of times they were viewed by readers throughout 2011.<\/p>\n<p>To get a sense of the work that goes into these wonderful photos, we asked Senior Photographer Dennis Gray for his thoughts on the selected pictures. Gray said, &#8220;I fall in love with the how and why and not so much what the final image looks like. None of my photos were really accidents or being in the right place but more planning a shot and waiting until the drivers and cars were there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Please vote by leaving a comment with your favorite image.
