A total of 750 vehicles are expected to cross the auction block during the three-day event.<\/p>\n<p>The 4th annual Mecum Monterey sale will be headlined by the 1972 Porsche 917-10 Spyder; 1954 Ferrari 750 Monza; MV Agusta Collection; 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy; 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB\/4 Daytona Spyder; a pair of COPO Chevrolet Corvette Convertibles; 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 Roadster; 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing; among others.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the featured 917-10 Spyder, seven historic Porsches from the Steve Goldin Collection will be offered on Saturday, August 18. These range from Al Holbert&#8217;s 1973 911S personal daily driver to Bob Akin\u2019s famous Sebring-winning 1986 962, with their collective heritage also tied to other champions of the marque &#8211; Hurley Haywood, Emerson Fittipaldi, the Kremer Brothers, Rolf Stommelen and Bobby Rahal, to name a few. In total, the 2012 Mecum Monterey sale will see more than 40 Porsches cross the auction block.<\/p>\n<p>Mecum will also offer a collection of 71 MV Agusta motorcycles &#8212; the most comprehensive and complete gathering of MV Agusta motorcycles known to exist &#8212; as a single lot on the auction block. The collection in its entirety represents the complete post-war history of Italian motorcycle including the first year production 1946 MV 98cc &#8220;3 Velocita&#8221; and early factory team race bikes, to limited production F4 superbikes of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Mecum offered 743 cars, with 444 finding new owners, reflecting a 59.8% sales rate. The total sales volume was $22,196,822 and the average price per car sold was $43,993.
