1970 Shelby GT500 Fastback sold for $220,000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction 2012 was held September 20-22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, resulting in more than $23 million in total sales.<\/p>\n

More than 68,000 car enthusiasts attended the 5th annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas sale, representing over a 10% increase from the year before.The top result at the auction, which featured nearly 525 vehicles, went to a 1967 Mustang Shelby Super Snake that sold for $330,000, followed by the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird which fetched $297,000 and a 1967 Ford Mustang Custom Fastback that brought $275,000.<\/p>\n

Other notable results included a 1970 Shelby GT500 that sold for $220,000 and a 1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible that made $113,300, the highest sales for vehicles of their kind.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs each car crossed the auction block this past weekend, you could feel the excitement and enthusiasm in the air amongst our bidders, consignors and the animated Las Vegas crowd,\u201d said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO, Barrett-Jackson. \u201cSeveral consignors waited on the sidelines because of the uncertainty in the world market and after seeing the results, they are eager for our Scottsdale show early next year. The collector car market proves to be stronger than ever and we look forward to an exciting auction in Scottsdale where we have a great collection of vehicles being sold.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2012 – Top Five Auction Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. 1967 Mustang Shelby Super Snake – $330,000
\n2. 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird – $297,000
\n3. 1967 Ford Mustang Custom Fastback – $275,000
\n4. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback – $247,500
\n5. 1970 Shelby GT500 Fastback – $220,000<\/p>\n

Barrett-Jackson raised over $540,000 for local and national charitable organizations that include the Darrell Gwynn Foundation, YMCA of Southern Nevada, Team Joseph, TGen and Festival of Hope, The Mission Continues and the Greg Biffle Foundation.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas attendees got a sneak preview of select vehicles from the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Salon Collection, including the newly-restored Shelby ‘Green Hornet’ Prototype, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL owned by Clark Gable and one of eleven 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda Convertibles ever built.<\/p>\n
