1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 sold for $605,000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Russo and Steele Scottsdale Auction 2013 was held January 16-20 in Scottsdale, Arizona, resulting in more than $17.5 million in total sales and a 68% sell-through rate.
\nThe 13th annual Russo and Steele “Sports and Muscle” Scottsdale auction saw more than 700 automobiles cross the auction block over five days, with the top result going to a numbers-matching 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster that sold for $727,100. Other headline sales included the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Coupe that made $605,000, the $242,000 paid for the 1940 Packard Darrin Convertible Custom and the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that brought $233,750.
\nOne of the more notable items at this year’s sale was the announcement that Russo and Steele were starting two new auctions<\/a> in 2013: Newport Beach, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
\nDrew Alcazar, CEO of Russo and Steele, commented that he was, “pleased with Scottsdale’s results and the tremendous response that the announcement about our two new auctions has produced. Typically, at this time we have the phones ringing off the hook asking about results from Scottsdale \u2013 this year we fielded double the number of calls, but it was from enthusiasts and clients alike asking about the new events and how they can start planning to attend them.”<\/p>\n
