{"id":370331,"date":"2013-08-23T09:00:45","date_gmt":"2013-08-23T13:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/?p=53534"},"modified":"2024-01-15T06:43:54","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T06:43:54","slug":"pebble-beach-concours-delegance-2013-picture-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/pebble-beach-concours-delegance-2013-picture-gallery\/","title":{"rendered":"Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance (2013) &#8211; Recap &#038; Photo Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2013 edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance was, as always, held the third Sunday of August on the incomparable 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California.<\/p>\n<p>The 63rd edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance honored Lincoln, Simplex, Vanvooren Coachwork, Aston Martin Centennial, Lamborghini, Porsche 911, BMW 507, Indianapolis Roadsters and French Motorcycles. Notable displays included gatherings of four Prinz Heinrich Benz Race Cars, 27 Alfa Romeo 8Cs and a pairing of the only two custom-built BMW 507s.<\/p>\n<p>The Pebble Beach Tour d\u2019Elegance presented by Rolex saw more than 200 historic cars parade on a 88-mile course along the 17-Mile Drive, winding through the Central Coast including, for the first time in a decade, the Corkscrew turn around the track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The cars then made their way down to Big Sur and back, stopping in Carmel-by-the-Sea for lunch and then back to the Equestrian Center at Pebble Beach.<\/p>\n<p>At dawn on Sunday, August 18th, 248 cars including 48 non-American entries, rolled onto the famous 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links for the ultimate test of precise restoration \u2013 the Pebble Beach Concours d&#8217;Elegance. Vehicles were judged for historical accuracy, technical merit and style, but not for their speed &#8211; although one of the key criteria is that all cars must be drivable. Best of Show was presented to a 1934 Packard 1108 Twelve Dietrich Convertible Victoria, owned by Joseph &amp; Margie Cassini III of New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Pink Floyd drummer and noted enthusiast Nick Mason exhibited his 1953 Aston Martin Ulster and 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta. Mason commented, \u201cI don\u2019t come here to win prizes \u2013 I\u2019ve seen the standard of the cars! It\u2019s an honour to be included on the lawn, just to have the cars here is great.
