More than 80 collector cars with an emphasis on historic competition will be featured at the single-day, biennial RM Monaco auction held the same weekend as the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>A total of nine automobiles offered at the <a title=\"RM Auctions Monaco\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rmauctions.com\/lots\/?SaleCode=MC14&amp;sort=lot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RM Auctions Monaco 2014 sale<\/a> are estimated to sell for \u20ac1,000,000 or more. Three vehicles carry pre-sale estimates of more than \u20ac4.000.000, including the 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB\/C, 1956 Maserati 450S Prototype and 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series I.<\/p>\n<p>The 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB\/C with coachwork by Scaglietti is the ninth of only twelve produced. This matching-numbers example with Ferrari Classiche certification was not sold to a race team but rather delivered new to a private owner in Milan who registered it for road use. The car didn\u2019t see track action until 1969, when its third owner competed in the Colle San Eusebio Hill Climb. It then passed onto its fourth owner in 1973, spending the next 22 years in the Netherlands. Chassis 3501 has been verified as the Works entry for the 1956 Mille Miglia, in which it was driven by Stirling Moss with Denis Jenkinson, and is also the prototype for the legendary 450S. Authenticated by correspondence from Maserati S.p.A., it was restored with the factory\u2019s consultation in 1987. First displayed at the 1959 New York International Auto Show, it is Ferrari Classiche certified as a matching-numbers example. It was later owned by Bob Grossman, William McKelvy and Glenn Mounder, who campaigned the Cabriolet numerous times on the Colorado Grand. The first Hesketh Formula One car built, the example on offer is one of only three constructed in the 308 and 308 B series, and was extensively campaigned by Formula One champions James Hunt in the 1974 season and Alan Jones in the 1975 season. Made famous by Hunt\u2019s late-race pass and ultimate victory at the 1974 Silverstone International Trophy Race, it also contested the Brand Hatch Race of Champions, and both the British and South African Grand Prix, in 1974. One of only 18 examples produced, chassis 028 was purchased new by Eduardo Lualdi Gabardi, a wealthy Italian nobleman. Lualdi campaigned the Dino extensively in hillclimb events across Italy, reportedly winning 1st or 1st in class on 22 occasions out of 35 events he entered. In 1969, Lualdi sold the Dino back to the factory and by 1972 it had undergone a series of performance upgrades including the installation of a 246 Tasman engine, the gearbox and suspension from a 312 Ferrari Formula One racer, and a more aggressive 312P(B) style body, all modifications suggesting that Ferrari was experimenting in anticipation of the 312P. Since being obtained by its current owner in 1977, the car has been frequently shown and awarded with numerous accolades including Platinum at the FCA National Concours and Cavallino Classic.
