1961 Ferrari 250 Series II Cabriolet sold for $2,250,000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Mecum Monterey Auction 2014 was held August 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa in Monterey, California, resulting in total sales of $34,651,635 and a 56% sell-through rate at Mecum\u2019s highest-grossing Monterey auction to date.<\/p>\n

A total of 645 cars were offered during the three-day event, with six of the 361 cars sold surpassing hammer prices of $1,000,000. The top result at the 2014 Mecum Monterey sale went to the 1961 Ferrari 250 Series II Cabriolet (Lot S181) at $2,250,000, while the ex-Peter Revson 1972 McLaren M20 Can-Am Racer (Lot S170) achieved top honors as the highest-selling race car with a hammer price of $2,000,000.<\/p>\n

Other notable results at the Mecum Monterey 2014 sale included a 1930 Duesenberg Model J Torpedo Berline Convertible (Lot S206) that brought $1,425,000, a 1995 Porsche 962 K8 Spyder (Lot S146) at $930,000, a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Convertible (Lot S147) that made $785,000 and a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition (Lot S120) that sold for a record-setting $510,000.<\/p>\n
