The Goodwood Revival 2014 was held September 12-14 at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England. The Circuit opened its gates in 1948 following the closure in 1946 of the then RAF Westhampnett, a wartime fighter base. This year, alongside the usual roster of historic car races, the Revival celebrated a select group of anniversaries including the 75th anniversary of the airfield and Jackie Stewart’s professional career that began at Goodwood 50 years ago.<\/p>\n

The Goodwood Revival is as much about the ‘show’ as it is about the racing. The Circuit’s active years straddled the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.Participants and spectators are encouraged to enter into the spirit of the occasion and dress in vintage clothes reminiscent of the era. It is an opportunity taken very seriously indeed, and as a result everyone present becomes part of the \u2018grand tableau\u2019.<\/p>\n

Senior Photographer Tim Scott documented the 2014 running of the Goodwood Revival. In addition to his Sussex Trophy<\/a>, RAC TT<\/a>, Whitsun Trophy<\/a>, Jaguar D-Type<\/a> and general race<\/a> galleries, Tim brings the following images from ‘Behind the Scenes’ at this year’s Meeting that complete the full perspective of the event. We split up Tim’s pictures into two galleries.
