Barrett-Jackson&#8217;s 44th annual Arizona Auction Week sale will feature the largest docket in its history, with more than 1,600 classics, exotics, muscle cars, hot rods, resto-mods and more set to cross the auction block.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to kick off 2015 with the largest auction in the history of Barrett-Jackson,\u201d said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. \u201cCollectors and auto aficionados from around the world come to our Scottsdale auction to bid on some of the most coveted vehicles ever built. With a record number of cars set to cross the block, Scottsdale will be our most electrifying auction to date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2015\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barrett-jackson.com\/Events\/Event\/Home\/Scottsdale-2015\/db2ea9f8-8e86-4e46-9f59-a145dea8d4a7\/?utm_source=Sports_Car_Digest&amp;utm_medium=Banner&amp;utm_campaign=SD15&amp;utm_content=300x250\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2015 Auction<\/a> will be the last chance to see the Ron Pratte Collection, including more than 140 vehicles and over 1,500 pieces of automotive memorabilia. Pratte\u2019s collection of automobilia will be auctioned beginning Saturday, January 10, and his vehicles will sell on Tuesday, January 13, and Saturday, January 17. The headliners of the collection, including the 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 &#8216;Super Snake&#8217; (Lot #2509) and the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama Concept Car (Lot #2500), will cross the block on Saturday, January 17. The Collection\u2019s 1950 GM Futurliner will be auctioned off with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Armed Forces Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to supporting and advocating for active-duty military personnel, National Guardsmen, Reservists, military families and veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Called the Cobra to end all Cobras, the 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 &#8216;Super Snake&#8217; CSX 3015 is one of two Super Snake Cobras built and the only one remaining in existence built for Carroll Shelby. CSX 3015, one of 23 427 competition roadsters built, still has its original 1965 date-coded engine block, its original headers with its original chromed side pipes that had been spray painted flat         <\/div>\r\n                <div class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption'>\r\n                1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake Engine\r\n                <\/div><\/figure>\n<p>Penned by Harley Earl, the famed styling director of General Motors, the 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama Concept Car reportedly came into fruition while Earl watched world speed records being set at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Under the direction of Earl, Hommer LaGassey and Paul Gilland were directed to build two Bonneville Specials. A bronze car would debut in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf in New York and the green one in the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles. The green model on offer in Scottsdale would later tour major dealerships around the country. The cars were showbiz and beyond production, but realistic enough for the public to identify with them and make them contenders for best-remembered Motorama cars.<\/p>\n<figure These incredible, timeless vehicles highlight the Barrett-Jackson heritage of great classics and amazing European sports cars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport (Lot # 5087), chassis number 110123, is one of eight built on the same short wheelbase chassis used on the Grand Prix cars and one of only three completed by Marius Franay. The T-26 Grand Sport is powered by a race-proven six cylinder, three-carburetor engine producing nearly 200 hp. The car retains its original DOHC 4.5 liter engine and comes with a documented and detailed history, including receipts and pictures of a frame-off concours-level restoration.<\/p>\n<p>A 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS (Lot #5083) will also cross the block in Scottsdale. Only 121 total 6C 1750s were built, with just 30 designated SS, featuring a supercharger. This Alfa Romeo has recently undergone a complete restoration at Automotive Restoration in Stratford, Connecticut, Chassis 0312901 is in Concours condition and the chassis has returned to its original state. The chassis and engine are both original and in like-new condition. Much like their competitors Mercedes-Benz and FIAT, Isotta Fraschini derived significant development know-now from its racing endeavors. Isotta was the first automaker to fit four-wheel brakes to its production cars as standard equipment and introduced the world\u2019s first production inline eight-cylinder engine at the Paris Salon of 1919. A marvel of automotive engineering, motorsports icon Andy Granatelli and England&#8217;s Lotus Cars founder Colin Chapman&#8217;s iconic STP-sponsored #70 Lotus 56-3 Indy Race Car was raced by Graham Hill in the 1968 Indianapolis 500. Hill set a new track record with an average speed of 171.208 mph over four laps in qualifying. Hill pushed the turbine car to fourth place as late as the 110th lap, when a minor crash forced him out of the race. Owned for years by NASCAR legend Richard Petty, the #70 Lotus 56-3 Indy Race Car completely restored back to its 1968 race-day condition. It spent the last year on display inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, after Parnelli Jones drove the car during the parade laps of the 2014 Indianapolis 500.<\/p>\n<figure
