1959 Frazer Nash Le Mans Coupe sold for \u00a3470,000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Bonhams Goodwood Members Meeting 2015 was staged 21st March at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester, England, resulting in total sales of \u00a34,311,722 and a 75% sell-through rate.<\/p>\n

The ex-Kitty Maurice 1959 Frazer Nash Le Mans Coupe was the top result, selling for \u00a3470,000. Bonhams debut sale at the 73rd Goodwood Members\u2019 Meeting also showed a trend for 1980s sports cars, achieving a new world auction record for an Audi Quattro as the hammer fell at \u00a3287,100 for the 1985 Sport SWB Coupe model.<\/p>\n

Enthusiasts with a penchant for rallying were also served well by the Bonhams Goodwood Members Meeting 2015 auction, as the ex-works, Hannu Mikkola\/Arne Hertz 1982 Audi Quattro A1 Group B Rally Car that won Mikkola the 1983 World Drivers\u2019 Championship went under the hammer, selling for \u00a3253,480. Also of motorsport provenance, the ex-Pentti Airikkala, Roger Clark, Ari Vatanen, Bj\u00f6rn Waldeg\u00e5rd, David Sutton (Cars) Ltd, 1975 Ford Escort RS1800 Rally Car, sold for \u00a385,500.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, bidders vied to take home some challenging restoration project cars, with the 1962 Aston Martin DB4 Series IV selling for \u00a3256,860, the 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage selling for \u00a3194,140 and a 1963 Porsche 356B Super 90 Coupe soaring to double its estimate, achieving \u00a332,200.<\/p>\n

James Knight, Bonhams International Motoring Director, said, \u201cWe have enjoyed offering some magnificent motor cars at both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival Meetings over the past twenty years and we are thrilled to add the Members\u2019 Sale to this portfolio. We have offered a varied cross-section of motor cars, with tremendous interest expressed across the board. A noticeable demand for sports cars of the 1980s has been evident at our inaugural event, complementing the more modern cars competing at the Meeting. This is a Sale that will certainly grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other notable results included the unique Pininfarina-bodied 1968 Bentley T-Series \u2018Coupe Speziale\u2019, achieving \u00a3250,140; a 1959 Jaguar XK150S Roadster, selling for almost triple estimate at \u00a3225,500; and a 1961 Jaguar Series 1 Flat Floor Roadster sold for \u00a3158,300.<\/p>\n
