The 41st edition of Retromobile in Paris, Europe’s largest classic car show, featured a great selection of displays at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. Among the 450 vendors, the exhibit from Fiskens stood out for the depth of quality cars.<\/p>\n

Fiskens unveiled a collection of newly consigned cars at the 2016 Retromobile, with 14 cars on display that had a combined motorsport heritage that includes period entries at Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona, Mille Miglia and Targa Florio.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the stand was the 1970 Ferrari 512M. The ex-Escuderia Montjuich car is a two-time veteran of Le Mans, as well as the Daytona 24-Hours, the Tour de France and the Buenos Aires and Paris 1000 Kilometre races. Chassis #1002 has been driven by names such as Juncadella and Fernandez, and taken to a 192 mph land speed record in 1976 by Derek Bell. Preserved in long-term ownership and offered for the first time publically, this is a car to \u2018wow\u2019 enthusiasts across the world.<\/p>\n

The 512M was complemented on the Fiskens stand by other sports racing cars of different post-war periods. The 1966 Bizzarrini Competition Lightweight Coupe, is a significant example with double Le Mans as well as Targa Florio and Monza history; the 1990 Porsche 962C is no less than Derek and Justin Bell\u2019s 1992 Le Mans entrant; the Porsche 934 RSR Turbo ran at Le Mans on three occasions; the Ferrari 512 BB, is an ex-Ecurie Francorchamps example and a veteran of the 1978 Le Mans and the 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33\/2B Daytona Coupe, is a podium-finishing Autodelta entrant in the great American endurance race.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the 1961 Jaguar E-Type \u2018Lightweight\u2019, acquired by Fiskens last year on behalf of a client, hustled the Ferrari 250 GTOs in the 1962 12 Hours of Sebring in the hands of Briggs Cunningham and John Fitch; and the 1948 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Competition Coupe is one of three cars built by the Alfa Romeo racing department and is a four-time Mille Miglia entrant (third overall in 1949) and a triple Targa Florio entrant, including second overall in 1949.<\/p>\n

Single-seat racing cars also featured in the collection. Joining the ex-Ickx, Bell and Brambilla 1968 Ferrari Dino 166\/246 Tasman and F2 car, was a Formula One technical tour-de-force; a 1982 Lotus 91\/7. With its black and gold livery, the chassis presented was entered by John Player Team Lotus for Nigel Mansell to contend the 1982 FIA World Championship and finished 3rd in the Brazilian Grand Prix that year. As the first Lotus to feature active suspension and carbon brakes, the car is a significant, landmark design in Formula One history.<\/p>\n

The 1953 HMW Jaguar was a podium finisher in the Freddie March Trophy<\/a> at the Goodwood Revival 2015. However, whilst competition cars are a hallmark of Fiskens, the company also specialises in the very best road-going sports cars. The 2016 Fiskens Retromobile collection was also graced by a rare 1967 Ferrari 356 California Spyder, one of 14 produced by the factory, and which is presented in fully restored, Ferrari Classiche-certified condition.<\/p>\n
