Ex-Ron Pratte Collection 1969 Ford Boss 429 sold for $550,000<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2016 auction was held April 8-10 at the South Florida Fairgrounds in Palm Beach, Florida, resulting in more than $23.2 million in total sales and a 96.3 percent sell-through rate. The 14th annual event increased sales over 2015 with a higher average vehicle price in front of 65,000 people over three days. Among the increased number of bidders in attendance, 42 percent of them were first-timers.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Palm Beach auction was a remarkable success with an incredible docket of desirable supercars, original muscle cars and automobilia,\u201d said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.\u201cThe crowds were electric throughout the weekend and primetime Saturday felt like primetime in Scottsdale as the wave of energy carried over from our 45th Anniversary Scottsdale Auction. We look forward to bringing this same excitement to our inaugural Mohegan Sun Auction in June.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrett-Jackson\u2019s 2016 Palm Beach sale featured classics, exotics, muscle cars, hot rods and resto-mods, with notable sales including two Heritage Edition Ford GTs (Lot #401 sold for $467,500 and Lot #426 sold for $412,500) that attracted heated bidding.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the biggest stories was the strong demand for original American iron this year,\u201d said Jackson. \u201cOn Saturday, we sold a pristine 1969 Ford Boss 429 (Lot #423) that was once part of the Ron Pratte collection for $550,000. Original mid-year Corvettes from the FAC Collection attracted strong bids including a 1967 Corvette roadster (Lot #375) for $181,500 while another Bloomington Gold certified 427 convertible (Lot #376) brought $154,000. Customs, especially trucks were popular, too. But the pristine, matching-numbers American muscle and sports cars were particularly coveted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrett-Jackson continued its strong support of non-profits. The eight charity vehicles hammered for a combined $1,050,000 with 100 percent going directly to the charitable organization. Barrett-Jackson has helped raise over $89 million to date.<\/p>\n
