The Finest Hershey 2016 auction was held Saturday, June 11 in Hershey, Pennsylvania at the Elegance at Hershey Concours, resulting in $3,463,700 in total sales and a 63 percent sell-through rate. Of the overall sales, four vehicles were sold online via Proxibid at the Finest Automobile Auctions’ inaugural event.<\/p>\n

The auction was led by the 1968 Lamborghini 400GT, which sold for $577,500. A sorted example of one of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s early masterpieces, this matching-numbers vehicle has enjoyed documented ownership from 1973. Other notable results at The Finest Hershey 2016 auction included a 1937 Bugatti Type 38-A Grand Sport, one of 39 produced in the supercharged 38-A form, that sold for $440,000, while a 1952 Siata 300BC Sports Spider brought $330,000.<\/p>\n

“Bidders and sellers both onsite and online were extremely receptive and enthusiastic about our technologically advanced bidding platform,” said Bradley Farrell, CEO of The Finest Automobile Auctions. \u201cIt is important to establish trust between the auction house, sellers and buyers \u2013 this live auction did exactly that and we can\u2019t wait for what\u2019s to come at our next auction.”<\/p>\n

Lot 123, a 1923 Hupmobile Series R-11 5 Passenger Special Touring donated by the Bosack Family in Hershey, Pennsylvania, sold for $11,000 with all proceeds benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.<\/p>\n
