The Supercar Run at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed provided a dynamic environment in which the public could view new models for the first time. Unlike a conventional motor show, the Supercar Run afforded a fantastic opportunity not only to exhibit a new supercar, but also to show it in action on the Goodwood hillclimb during the Festival of Speed.<\/p>\n

For 2016 the Supercar Run delivered the latest supercars from all around the world, with several making their dynamic debuts. These included the Bugatti Chiron, Aston Martin DB11, Ferrari F12 TDF and a sneak preview of a new V8-powered Bristol, set to be \u2018officially\u2019 launched later this year. The event also witnessed the global debut of the bold new Arrinera Hussarya GT which promises to take the fight to the exotica establishment. This Polish supercar appeared on the Hill several times during the Festival weekend.<\/p>\n

Lord March became the first non-professional driver ever to drive the new Bugatti Chiron. This quad-turbocharged hypercar appears set to become the fastest production car ever made, Bugatti claiming a top speed of 261 mph and 0-60 mph time of just 2.3 seconds. This 1479 bhp, eight-litre, W16-engine monster costs around \u00a31.9m, and is a replacement for the not exactly slow Veyron 16.4. Just 360 are set to be built.<\/p>\n

Lord March enjoyed his outing in the Chiron, saying “In terms of an overall automotive experience, that was at the very top — unbelievable power, yet unbelievably drivable. It was a full rush for all the senses.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Michelin Supercar Run was complemented by the new-for-2016 ‘Race Cars for the Road’ class which saw the likes of the Caterham 620R, BAC Mono and Lotus 3-11 attack the course.<\/p>\n
