The Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2016 auction was held October 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, resulting in more than $32.5 million in total sales and a 99.2 percent sell-through rate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Las Vegas auction proved that Barrett-Jackson continues to set the bar for sales, attendance and broadcast coverage among collector car auctions,\u201d said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.\u201cWe experienced extraordinary television coverage with 24 hours being broadcast in the U.S. on Discovery and Velocity, as well 24 hours in Canada and 20 hours in the United Kingdom. We\u2019re proud to fuel the collector car hobby by bringing our live auctions into the living rooms of fans around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The top result at the 2016 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction went to the 21,400 mile, matching-numbers, original and unrestored 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that sold for $357,500, followed by $275,000 paid for the 790hp 1967 Ford Shelby GT500SE Super Snake continuation. Among the auction\u2019s stars was the 1976 \u201cWayne\u2019s World\u201d AMC Pacer (Lot #608) that sold for $37,400. It set a new world record for an AMC Pacer as the previous record was $18,945.<\/p>\n

The Tammy Allen Collection was also a featured attraction during Barrett-Jackson’s 9th annual Las Vegas auction. The Collection included a 2008 Dodge Viper SRT\/10 Hurst 50th Anniversary that sold for $220,000, a 1962 Jaguar XKE Roadster (Lot #698) selling for $165,000, as well as a 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible (Lot #693) and the \u201cWasabi\u201d 1950 Mercury Coupe (Lot #694), both of which sold for $159,500.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year was our 45th Anniversary and we\u2019ve had a lot to celebrate,\u201d said Jackson. \u201cIn Scottsdale we set new records at every turn, including the sale of 2017 Acura NSX VIN #001, which sold for $1.2 million for charity. In Palm Beach, we welcomed Hollywood megastar William Shatner on stage to help sell two cars from his collection. At our inaugural Northeast Auction in Connecticut, tickets sold out within hours after gates opened and the vehicle docket closed well in advance due to strong demand. It was the first double sell-out in our company\u2019s 45-year history. It\u2019s only fitting that we top off our 45th Anniversary in Las Vegas with exceptional international TV coverage and sales, making it a truly banner year for our company, as well as our bidders, consignors, sponsors and fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

As always, charity played a big role at this year\u2019s sale, with $850,000 raised during the three-day event. The five vehicles that sold for charity during the Las Vegas auction included:<\/p>\n

1. 2015 RAM 2500 Commando Tactical Edition – $250,000 (Camp Southern Ground)
\n2. 1962 Chevrolet Corvette CRC Conversion – $200,000 (Carrington Charitable Foundation)
\n3. 2017 Shelby GTE Fastback – $150,000 (Grant A Gift Autism Foundation)
\n4. 2016 Indian Chief Jack Daniel\u2019s 150th Anniversary – $150,000 (Operation Ride Home)
\n5. 1967 Chevrolet Nova Custom Hardtop – $100,000 (West Springs Hospital Building Sanctuary\/Rebuilding Lives Project)<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Las Vegas automobilia auction was the company\u2019s most successful non-Scottsdale automobilia auction with a total of $777,000, an 8-percent increase over the 2015 Las Vegas auction.<\/p>\n
