{"id":384874,"date":"2020-11-03T16:08:23","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T21:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=381940"},"modified":"2024-03-06T02:17:47","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T02:17:47","slug":"lg-motorsport-has-new-aero-parts-for-your-shiny-c8-corvette","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/lg-motorsport-has-new-aero-parts-for-your-shiny-c8-corvette\/","title":{"rendered":"LG Motorsport Has New Aero Parts for Your Shiny C8 Corvette"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t care if it&#8217;s mid-engine or not, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/sixties-muscle-cars\/\">American muscle cars<\/a> have always had some aero problems making them far more well-equipped for the drag strip than the race track. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-admin\/admin.php?action=duplicate_post_save_as_new_post_draft&amp;post=349599&amp;_wpnonce=4628c6389f\">GM&#8217;s newest iteration of the Corvette<\/a> has completely proved old grinches like myself wrong, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgmotorsports.com\/\">LG motorsport<\/a> has come running in to back them up with new aero upgrades for the mid-engine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/what-are-the-supercars-with-the-lowest-maintenance-costs\/\">supercar killer on a budget<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"zeen-lazy-load-base zeen-lazy-load\" title=\"LG C8 Corvette Z51 COTA Aero Test\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"about:blank\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g74vMYnOAys?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><noscript><iframe title=\"LG C8 Corvette Z51 COTA Aero Test\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g74vMYnOAys?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgmotorsports.com\/\">LG<\/a> has delivered a new &#8216;GT2&#8217; wing; a giant carbon fiber rear spoiler aimed at maximizing downforce and minimizing overall drag.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-381941 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/C8-Corvette-LG-Motorsports-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"2048\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The factory wing that comes stock on the C8 secures to the decklid, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgmotorsports.com\/\">LG Motorsport<\/a> GT2 wing will be fixed to the actual frame, making it far more stable and ready for tons of wind-pushing downforce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The wing will cost around $4,561, and that will include a spoiler delete package and mounting kit for a complete all-in installation price<\/strong> (minus labor of course &#8211; I&#8217;m not personally drilling holes into my new sports car, thanks).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-381942 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/C8-Corvette-LG-Motorsports-5c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"783\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The aero components don&#8217;t just stop at the wing though; LG is also amidst the development of a carbon fiber front splitter to add with your rear wing for a full aero upgrade to both front and rear sections of the car.
