{"id":385307,"date":"2020-09-16T14:02:31","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T18:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=368671"},"modified":"2024-12-05T20:11:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T20:11:03","slug":"quite-possibly-the-worst-aftermarket-kit-for-a-lamborghini-urus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/quite-possibly-the-worst-aftermarket-kit-for-a-lamborghini-urus\/","title":{"rendered":"Quite Possibly The Worst Aftermarket Kit For A Lamborghini Urus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Okay, I&#8217;m dropping the Royal &#8220;we&#8221; for this article, because I&#8217;m pretty sure I want to only speak for myself here.<\/p>\n<p>I will admit, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/video-lamborghini-urus-2018-review\/\">Lamborghini Urus<\/a>, as it comes from the Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese factory, is a bit loud. It&#8217;s all angles and angry air intakes, and it&#8217;s not subtle in the least. But, I will argue, that is the <em>point<\/em> of a Lamborghini. It&#8217;s the car that jumps up and down with a neon flashing sign above its head going &#8220;LOOK AT ME!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb4.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mariusdesignhaus.com\/\">Marius Designhaus<\/a> in Germany has taken that beautiful vulgarity of the Urus, that balance of over-the-top mixed with Italian design and refinement, and pretty much plopped it in the toilet, gave it the middle finger, and flushed with prejudice.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368678\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb51.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Filed under &#8220;Why in the name of all that is green and holy?!?!&#8221; comes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mariusdesignhaus.com\/lamborghini-urus-md1\/\">MD1<\/a>, Marius Designhaus&#8217; first (<em>and hopefully only<\/em>) project with the Urus. Gone is the bold and brash Urus design, replaced with what looks like a violent sneeze on design paper that was wiped off, looked at, and nodded at going &#8220;Yeah, this will work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb81.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t. The front intake area, which was an angry shout from Lamborghini, is now a jutted out lower jaw with slashes and angles that make even Hellen Keller recoil in horror.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368677\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb21-1.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rear has so many spoilers and lips that it looks like a Honda Civic build project gone bad. The pointless diffuser on the rear bumper is, well, pointless because the Urus doesn&#8217;t hug the ground nearly enough to even have underbody aerodynamics.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb6.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But what is making me claw my eyes out while also simultaneously pouring gallons of bleach on them are the wheels. I wish I was allowed by the editorial staff to curse on this site because those wheels are fully worthy of a loud &#8220;What the **** were they <em>thinking<\/em>?!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-368679\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/urusweb71.jpg\" alt=\"Urus MD1\" width=\"1250\" height=\"703\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mercifully, only 30 MD1&#8217;s will be built, and I do hope that everyone that buys one makes it a garage queen, to prevent spontaneous vomiting from other drivers on the road.
