He starting making videos at the right time, with the right team, to make it one of the most-watched car channels out there.<\/p>\n<p>It also means that he was able to afford a gently used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/2006-bugatti-164-veyron\/\">Bugatti 16\/4 Veyron<\/a>. We&#8217;re talking about the original hypercar, the car that defined a whole new generation of power and performance. 1,001 BHP, 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 motor, all-wheel-drive.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_368999\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-368999\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-368999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture2-12.jpg\" alt=\"Bugatti Veyron vs SSC Tuatara\" width=\"1919\" height=\"961\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-368999\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Bugatti 16\/4 Veyron<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Up against it is the very first production <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/after-a-long-wait-of-nearly-9-years-the-2020-ssc-tuatara-is-officially-unveiled-with-car-1\/\">SSC Tuatara<\/a>. Production chassis #1. The one that was shown at the Philidelphia Auto Show earlier this year. And driving it against TheStradman is Jarod Shelby, the founder and CEO of SSC.<\/p>\n<p>And on paper, it has the Bugatti dead to rights. Developed by Nelson Race Engines, a 5.9 liter twin-turbo V8 with a flat-plane crank produces anywhere from 1,350 BHP with 91 octane, up to 1,750 BHP on E85. Guess which fuel they used for the drag race?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_368998\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-368998\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-368998\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture1-12.jpg\" alt=\"Bugatti Veyron vs SSC Tuatara\" width=\"1919\" height=\"961\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-368998\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The SSC Tuatara<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And to make it fair for the Bugatti, they do the race from a rolling start, so that the AWS system in the Veyron doesn&#8217;t have strain as much off a dead stop.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_369001\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-369001\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-369001\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture4-8.jpg\" alt=\"Bugatti Veyron vs SSC Tuatara\" width=\"1918\" height=\"957\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-369001\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A fair, rolling start&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Still, the instant the flag drops, even with the Bugatti pushing on all four wheels as hard as it can, the Tuatara is gone.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_369002\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-369002\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-369002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Capture5-6.jpg\" alt=\"Bugatti Veyron vs SSC Tuatara\" width=\"1919\" height=\"960\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-369002\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8230; the Tuatara starts to hook up its traction&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We&#8217;re not talking a measure of car lengths here. It&#8217;s a matter of just under a second.
